14th July 2007 — 29th July 2007
Art and music have a history of interbreeding / cross-pollination. At its best this can produce outstanding results, sometimes we are presented with the works of Pete Doherty, it's a double-edged sword. The Weasel at The South London Gallery investigates how artists have used music, and its trappings in their work, presenting films, installations and live performances. Nausea II by Maxi Geil will be shown daily along with artist's films and short video works. Bands will be playing in a series of Sunday gigs and there will be music-based performances on Saturday and Thursday nights. The bar, designed by Ludovica Gioscia and Karen Tang, is the linchpin for this event - as so, of course, it should be.
