Alongside Richard Dedeomenici's first solo gallery show, The Normalisation of Deviance,19 April - 28 May (see ArtVehicle 14), is an afternoon of May Day festivities; artists, performers, clowns and musicians, entertainment, events, workshops and a food fayre as part of the Art of Protest May Day Festival and Procession, taking place on the large green space outside Pump House Gallery. Inside the Big Top tent, join the artist-led workshops (such as Bob and Roberta Smith's Apathy Workshop) and events such as greening a giant Jack-in-the-Green sculpture, costume making, Maypole and Morris dancing (Jack-in-the-Green and May Day Morris Troupe), singing and clowning, as well banner and placard making (lead by Dedomenici) during the run up to the procession at 5pm. Check out Dedomenici's 'subversive think-tank of a show' then enjoy the sunshine, food and festivities. A great day of events for all the family.
